With You Always

People in our lives brighten our days
Take away our sadness
Fades our past scars enough to forget that they actually exist
They give us a temporary high when they send us a 'I miss you' text
We long for the next time we will be with them
And give them the power to make us happy again.
Soon after, they dance their way out of our fragile hearts
With them, is the power over our hearts
Tears, anxiety, overthinking and complete sadness
Become our new found friends.
Psalms 121:7-8
But what if we remembered God's promises?
That he has the power over lives
He promises to protect us
To be there for us
A friend who never leaves?
What if we give him the power over our hearts?
What if we keep our faith in the only friend who never leaves?
What if we shift the focus of our hearts?
